3/22/2019 0 Comments MotivationWhat is motivation? According to scientist motivation is "your general willingness to do something". In the article James Clear posted about motivation he underlines many basic ways to help you get motivated. To start off, I really enjoyed reading this article. It really made me think of the bigger picture and helped me understand that motivation doesn't just come, YOU as your own person have to get yourself motivated to do what you think is right. In this article, James Clear mentioned many things about motivation like, "How to get Motivated", "How to Make Motivation a Habit", and "How to Stay Motivated in the Long-Run". These four highlights really caught my attention because they taught me so much about motivation that I didn't know. For example, under the subtitle of "How to Make Motivation a Habit" James Clear listed three steps that would help build better rituals and make motivation a habit. These three simple steps are: 1. "A good pre–game routine starts by being so easy that you can’t say no to it. You shouldn’t need motivation to start your pre–game routine.", 2. "Your routine should get you moving towards the end goal", and finally 3. "You need to follow the same pattern every time". These three steps were really eyeopening to me because they showed me how easy it could be to get motivated. Also, I really enjoyed this article because motivation is something I lack, I feel like I can never find a way to get motivated. But, after reading this article I have realized that it all starts with me and the only way I am going to achieve what I want I need to make motivation a habit. In conclusion, I really enjoyed reading this "Motivation" article because, James Clear was capable of proving to me that motivation is nothing but another habit that I need to improve on.

To start off, continuous improvement is "a dedication to making small changes and improvements every day, with the expectation that those small improvements will add up to something significant". In my opinion, the article "Continuous Improvement: How It Works and How to Master it" by James Clear is very informative. The article has provided information on how to gain continuous improvement by explaining how, setting a tiny goal everyday could help you gain 1% of improvement everyday. The article explains that, if you are capable of gaining 1% of improvement everyday for a year you'll end up improving your gains by thirty-seven times. Thirty-seven times is A LOT, especially, if you can set your mind to what you are willing to succeed. Also, in this article James Clear provided three major steps on how to focus on continuous improvement. The steps he provided were, "Do more of what already works", "Avoid tiny losses", and "Measure backwards". These three steps will most definitely help people who are trying to seek their goals because they outline what needs to be done to gain that 1% of improvement everyday. I enjoyed reading this article because not only did it provide me information on how to master the art of continuous improvement but it also gave me information of how it works and what needs to be done get to where I want to be. In conclusion, James Clear has given us a clear and informative article that highlights specifically how to master the art of continuous improvement.
2/28/2019 0 Comments Goals VS HabitsI do agree with the opinion of James Clear, his idea to work on habits instead of goal setting makes so much sense. Habits will sustain you no matter if you are inspired or not. Whereas, goals are temporary and they rely on factors in which we do not always have control over. To begin, James said, "Achieving a goal only changes your life for a moment". Which means that once you achieve the goal you set you, give up again and you are back to square one. But if you start having GOOD habits you will be more successful in what you want to achieve. Yes, I do believe that people should have a considerable balance between goals and habit. But, if I had to balance the two on a scale, 30% of my achievements would be goals and the other 70% would be habits. James Clear mentioned four different problems about goals. He said, "Winners and losers have the same goals", "Achieving a goal is only a momentary change", "Goals restrict your happiness", and "Goals are at odds with long- term progress". I do agree with 3/4 of his statements. I only agree with three because I do not believe that goals will restrict your happiness. Happiness is something that comes naturally and goal setting should not restrict someone from enjoy their life. Furthermore, although for the most part, I do agree with the opinion that James Clear had about habits over goals, but I did not agree with him when he said, "Goals restrict your happiness" because no one should put their happiness on the line for a small goal. In conclusion, this topic has taught me a lot but I believe that everyone is their own person and they could achieve anything by either setting goals or having healthy habits. 2/20/2019 0 Comments Digital CitizenshipDigital citizenship is the quality of habits, actions and consumption patterns that impact the ecology of digital content and communities. Digital citizenship is important because it helps students learn, communicate and collaborate safely and responsibly. Also, it gives students the sense to understand what is going on online, and it lets them understand the impact that technology has on their lives online. It gives students the sense to understand what is going on online, because there are both good and bad things that happen. For example, people may not be who they seem to be, or the information that you think is correct may not actually be correct because, people find ways to manipulate information to give students, and adults the wrong ideas of a concept. Digital Citizenship also lets students understand the impact that technology has on their own lives because, as soon as something is posted it stays their forever, even if they think the post is deleted. In conclusion, learning about digital citizenship is so important because students and adults need to understand what can happen online, and they need to be able to develop good habits that will prevent them from causing any online problems.
